In the manga itself, while Erika does visit Kobe, it's a personal trip (she accompanies Kyouya to visit his mother), while the actual class trip doesn't happen until much later, when Erika is in senior year, and the destination is Hokkaido. Kyouya is not helping either, bluntly telling Erika that if she chooses to study glass-making, they'll have to break up. She doesn't want to give up her boyfriend nor her potential career.
